Kenko ZXII UV L41 82mm
Kenko ZXII UV L41 82mm | A UV filter for 82mm lens threads
The Kenko ZXII UV L41 is identified as a UV filter, with an 82mm size and a specific L41 designation. That makes it a straightforward option for photographers who want this particular filter type for a lens with a matching front thread. It suits anyone choosing a filter by its exact model and size, rather than looking for a general-purpose lens accessory. You can use it as a UV filter on a compatible lens, for example when photographing outdoors or keeping a filter fitted during everyday shooting. The product name is also useful when you need to distinguish this version from other filters in Kenko’s range. Its purpose is specific: it’s a UV filter, not a polariser or a neutral-density filter, so it isn’t the tool for controlling reflections or reducing exposure.
Choosing and using it
Match the 82mm size to the filter thread on the lens you intend to use. Once fitted, it gives you the UV-filter type named in the product title; it won’t provide the effects of a polarising or neutral-density filter. If you’re selecting one for a particular lens, use the lens’s marked filter-thread size as your guide, then check that the product designation is the version you want.
Specialist Note
82mm is the size to match at the front of your lens; in practice, that means this filter is intended for a lens with an 82mm filter thread. The L41 wording is useful when you want this exact UV-filter designation, rather than just any filter in the same size. I’d point it towards photographers who already know they need a UV filter and want the size and variant clearly identified. For outdoor work, fit it to the matching lens before you head out; for day-to-day use, the same simple size check avoids choosing a filter that won’t fit. Keep in mind that it’s a UV filter, not an exposure-control filter.
