LaCie d2 Thunderbolt2 4TB USB 3.0 7200RPM 220MB/s

LaCie d2 Thunderbolt2 4TB USB 3.0 7200RPM 220MB/s | Room for large working files

When your computer’s internal storage starts filling up with large projects, an external drive gives you a separate place to keep them. The LaCie d2 is a 4TB external HDD, suited to photographers and other creators who want substantial desktop storage for their files. It connects via Thunderbolt 2 or USB 3.0, and its listed transfer speed is up to 220MB/s. The drive runs at 7200RPM. Those figures make it a practical option when you’re choosing a drive by capacity, connection type and stated speed, rather than looking for a pocket-sized storage device. Its strongest appeal is straightforward: plenty of space in one external drive, with two named connection options. That’s useful when a growing archive needs a dedicated home, or when you want working files kept off your computer’s internal storage.

When this drive makes sense

Think about the files you need to keep close at hand and how you plan to connect the drive. A 4TB capacity gives you room to group a substantial collection of files on one device, rather than spreading them across several smaller drives. The two connection types give you options when arranging a desktop setup, while the stated speed provides a concrete point of comparison with other storage products. As an HDD, it’s best approached as storage for files and projects, not as a promise of any particular workflow or performance in a specific application. In short, this LaCie is for someone who values capacity and the choice of Thunderbolt 2 or USB 3.0 in an external drive. If those are the details you’re weighing, the model name gives you the key figures at a glance.
