Lowepro ProTactic LCS 13 x 32 III: Protect a lens inside a larger bag
Lowepro ProTactic LCS 13 x 32 III has internal dimensions of 33 x 13 x 13 cm, giving a lens its own protected space inside a larger camera bag. It’s for photographers who carry a lens alongside other kit and want to guard it against scratches and knocks during storage or transport. A hard outer shell and Dual-Density Foam provide protection around the lens, while a compression strap keeps it in place inside the case. Use it to separate a spare lens from camera bodies and accessories in a packed bag, or attach it to compatible SlipLock gear for access while carrying your kit. The removable shoulder strap also gives you the option of carrying the case on its own. Lowepro has added attachment points for SlipLock-compatible bags, ProTactic III bags and a standard 3.81 cm belt, so it can work as part of a larger carry setup as well as inside a bag.
Access and protection
- Hard outer shell: The firm exterior helps shield the lens from bumps when your camera bag is set down or moved around.
- Dual-Density Foam: The foam construction cushions the lens inside the case, adding protection between it and other equipment.
- Compression strap: Secure the lens in place inside the pouch to limit shifting as you carry your bag.
- SlipLock attachment system: Attach the case to a compatible SlipLock bag, a bag from the ProTactic III line or a standard 3.81 cm belt.
- Removable shoulder strap: Detach the strap when the case is packed away, or use it to carry the pouch separately.
Specialist Note
A busy camera bag is open on the desk, and a lens needs a protected spot before the next trip out. I’d use this Lowepro for exactly that: the 481 g case adds its own weight, so I’d keep it for the lens I most want separated from the rest of my kit. Its 5-litre capacity makes it a substantial pouch rather than a slim sleeve, while the detachable shoulder strap gives you the option of carrying it separately. For a lens moving between a larger bag and a SlipLock attachment, secure it with the compression strap before packing. The case is focused on protecting and carrying a lens, not organising a whole camera kit.
Inside the case
The stated capacity is 5 litres. An inner stretch pocket holds a lens cap, giving that small accessory a separate place rather than leaving it loose among the rest of your gear. The case is made from polyester and comes in black, with a shape suited to storing a lens as its main piece of kit.
