Marumi Circ Pola Filter Exus 77 mm
Marumi Circ Pola Filter Exus 77 mm | Reduce reflections, shape skies
Without a polarizing filter, reflections and washed-out skies are largely left for you to accept or address later in editing. The Marumi Circ Pola Filter Exus is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want to manage those effects while taking the picture. Turn it to reduce reflections from surfaces such as water or glass, making detail behind the glare easier to see. It can also deepen a blue sky and help clouds read more clearly, especially when the camera points roughly at right angles to the sun. The effect is selective, not automatic: the result changes as you rotate the filter and as the light and angle change. It’s especially useful for landscapes, travel scenes and subjects behind glass. If you’d rather make that decision while composing than rely on editing later, this filter gives you a direct way to do it.
Specialist Note
A polarizer cuts some light, so I wouldn’t leave it on by default when light is scarce; it earns its place when reflections or a bright sky are part of the problem. The 77 mm size is the key practical detail: it’s made for a lens with a matching 77 mm filter thread, not a universal fit. Its black colour keeps the front of your setup visually quiet, though that’s an appearance detail rather than an image benefit. For water or a window, rotate the filter while watching the reflection fade. For a stronger sky, frame roughly 90 degrees from the sun and adjust until the blue looks natural. I’d recommend it to landscape and travel photographers who want that control at capture.
