Marumi Grey Filter Super DHG ND500 52 mm
Marumi Grey Filter Super DHG ND500 52 mm | Create long exposures in daylight
Bright daylight can make a slow shutter speed difficult to use: the scene gets too much light before you can capture the motion you want. The Marumi Super DHG ND500 is a grey neutral density filter that reduces the light entering your lens, giving you room to choose a longer exposure. It suits photographers who want to show movement in a daylight landscape, such as flowing water or drifting clouds, rather than freeze every detail. The ND500 designation makes this a filter for substantial light reduction, so it’s particularly relevant when ordinary exposure settings won’t give you the shutter speed you’re after. It’s also useful when you want to explore motion effects without changing the scene or relying on dimmer conditions. The 52 mm size is the key fit detail: it’s for a lens with a matching 52 mm filter thread.
Specialist Note
At midday, I’d use the ND500 to make a moving stream read as a soft, continuous flow instead of separate splashes. The 500 designation tells you this is aimed at a strong reduction in light, so you can work with a longer shutter time even in bright conditions. Its 52 mm size means you’ll need a lens with a 52 mm filter thread; that’s worth matching before planning a setup. I’d keep the camera steady during a long exposure and use the filter for deliberate motion effects, not as an everyday lens accessory. It suits landscape photographers who enjoy shaping movement in a scene.
