Marumi StepDown Ring Lens 77mm To Accessory 62 mm
Marumi StepDown Ring Lens 77mm To Accessory 62 mm | Fit a Smaller Accessory
A smaller threaded filter or accessory can be used on a lens with a larger front thread, so you can keep using an item you already own instead of buying another in the lens’s size. This Marumi step-down ring joins those two thread sizes, making it a straightforward adapter for photographers who want to pair their lens with a smaller filter accessory. It’s best suited to that specific size change; it doesn’t make an accessory fit every lens. The ring is a simple physical connection, so it won’t change the filter’s effect or add a new control to your setup. If you’re matching a filter to a lens, this is the kind of small part that can save you from carrying a second filter in a different size. Its black colour keeps the adapter visually low-key among dark camera accessories.
Practical fit
Think of the ring as a bridge between the lens’s front thread and the accessory’s thread. Screw it into place gently and evenly, then attach the accessory without forcing the threads. This is a simple way to use a smaller threaded item on the specified larger lens size. It won’t help with a different size pairing, so keep the intended lens and accessory threads together when planning your setup.
Specialist Note
First-time buyers sometimes assume a step-down ring can adapt any filter to any lens; this one has a specific pairing, so it’s worth matching both ends before you set off. It takes a 77mm lens thread down to a 62mm accessory thread, which lets you use a smaller threaded filter on that larger lens opening. I’d use it when you want to travel with a filter you already own rather than add another size to your kit. The black colour also keeps the connection visually discreet around a dark lens and filter. Just remember that this ring handles that size transition only; it won’t solve a mismatch involving other thread sizes.
