Mentter EX-Pro+ MRC-UV 58mm Slim | Slim-profile UV filtration

Mentter EX-Pro+ MRC-UV 58mm Slim is a slim-profile UV filter for photographers using a lens with a 58mm filter thread. Its purpose is straightforward: filter ultraviolet light, with a lower-profile design than a standard-style filter. It suits people who want a UV filter in their regular lens setup, especially for outdoor photography where they prefer to keep one fitted while working. The 58mm size is the key detail when choosing it; match that measurement to the filter thread on your lens. The name also includes the MRC designation, so you can identify this version when comparing Mentter filters. This isn’t a filter for changing exposure or adding a polarising effect. It has a specific role, and the slim format keeps the front of the lens setup less bulky than a thicker-profile filter would be.

Specialist Note

Landscape and travel photographers who work outside with a 58mm-thread lens are the people I’d point towards this filter. Match the 58mm marking on your lens to the filter size, then use it when you want UV filtration as part of that setup. The Slim profile is a practical detail if you prefer not to add a more prominent rim at the front of your lens. I’d keep its job in perspective: this is a UV filter, not a way to cut exposure or reflections. For those effects, you’d need a different type of filter. If UV filtration is what you need, this Mentter gives you that purpose in a compact profile.

Choosing the right size

Filter size refers to the lens’s filter thread, not the camera body. Look for the 58mm marking on the lens itself before choosing this model. Once fitted to a matching thread, it’s ready to serve as a UV filter during outdoor shooting. The slim profile is especially worth considering if you want a restrained addition at the front of your lens rather than a more projecting filter rim.
