Mentter EX-Pro+ MRC-UV 86mm Slim | A low-profile UV filter

The defining design decision is the slim profile: it keeps the filter ring low-profile rather than adding a bulky-looking frame to a lens. This is a UV filter in an 86mm size, suited to photographers whose lens takes that filter size and who want a slim-format filter on the front. It’s a straightforward option for landscape and outdoor photography, or for keeping a UV filter fitted during everyday use. The name identifies the filter as the EX-Pro+ MRC-UV, but the details here don’t establish further coating or optical performance claims, so I’d keep expectations focused on what’s clear: its UV-filter type, 86mm size and slim design. If you’re choosing a filter for a large lens, the main practical point is to match the 86mm size to the lens’s filter thread. This model keeps the choice simple: a specific size and a restrained profile.

Specialist Note

Landscape photographers working with a large front element are the people I’d point towards this filter. The 86mm size means it’s for a lens with an 86mm filter thread, so check the marking on the lens rather than guessing from its overall size. Its slim profile keeps the ring low-profile on the front, which suits a setup where you’d rather avoid extra bulk. For outdoor scenes, fit it before you start composing so the UV filter is already in place as you work. One honest point: the 86mm size is specific, so it won’t suit lenses with a different filter thread. It’s a focused option, not a one-size-fits-all accessory.
