Metabones Canon FD - X-Mount Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X)

Metabones Canon FD - X-Mount Speed Booster Ultra (0.71X) | A clearly named mount pairing

The defining detail here is the 0.71X designation: this Metabones Speed Booster Ultra is identified for Canon FD to X-Mount use. It’s for photographers working with Canon FD equipment who are looking for a converter bearing that exact pairing, rather than a general-purpose accessory. The name also gives you a concrete detail to compare when choosing between converters: the stated ratio is 0.71X. There’s no need to guess which mount combination this product is intended to cover; both ends are spelled out in its name. For a specialist shop, that clarity matters, especially when you’re matching an accessory to a particular lens and camera setup. My practical advice is to treat the full product name as the starting point: match the Canon FD and X-Mount labels in your kit, then consider whether the listed 0.71X version is the one you want. It’s a specific converter for a specific pairing.

Matching the product to your kit

When comparing converters, it helps to focus on the complete name, not just “Speed Booster Ultra.” The Canon FD - X-Mount wording identifies the pairing, while 0.71X distinguishes this version. Those are the useful details available here, and they make the product easier to identify in a shortlist or when discussing a setup with our team. If your equipment is built around those two mount names, this is the Metabones model to look at. If you’re researching a different pairing, this product name doesn’t describe it. That’s a straightforward way to narrow your search without relying on assumptions about features that aren’t identified in the product name.
