NEEWER AS600B
NEEWER AS600B | A UV filter for managing ultraviolet light
For outdoor scenes, a UV filter is intended to reduce ultraviolet light reaching the lens; the NEEWER AS600B is a filter in that category. It may be of interest to photographers who want a UV filter for their lens, particularly when shooting in daylight or photographing distant landscapes. Its role is specific: it filters UV light, rather than adding a colour effect or changing exposure as a neutral-density filter would. On many digital cameras, the visible effect of UV filtering can be subtle, so it’s best to choose this type for that particular purpose rather than expecting a dramatic change to every picture. The product name identifies the model, but it doesn’t tell us its filter diameter. That measurement matters when selecting a filter for a lens, so match the required diameter before buying. If you’re comparing options, start with the purpose you need the filter to serve and the size your lens takes.
Specialist Note
600 is part of the AS600B model name; in practice, it identifies this particular NEEWER filter, not a measurement to use when choosing a size. The key product detail we can rely on is that it’s a UV filter. I’d consider it for outdoor photography where filtering ultraviolet light is your aim, especially when distant scenery looks hazy; fit the correctly sized filter to the lens and judge the result in the conditions you shoot. It may also suit someone who specifically wants a UV filter rather than a filter for exposure control. One honest point: with digital cameras, the visible effect can be modest, so don’t expect it to transform every scene.
