Nikon LC-72 72mm Lens Cap
Nikon LC-72 72mm Lens Cap | Keep the lens front covered
The Nikon LC-72 72mm Lens Cap is a straightforward cover for a lens with a 72mm size. It’s for Nikon photographers who want to keep the front of a lens covered when it’s not in use, whether the camera is being packed away or waiting between shots. A cap has a simple job: it keeps the exposed lens front from being left open while you’re handling or storing your gear. The 72mm designation gives you a clear size to match when choosing a cap; the Nikon LC-72 name identifies this particular model. Keep it on whenever the lens isn’t being used, then remove it before taking a photo. There’s no extra feature set to learn here, just a practical accessory for keeping a lens covered during the pauses that happen around a shoot.
A simple part of your camera routine
It’s easy to overlook a lens cap until you’re packing up or changing what you’re doing. Keeping the front covered during those moments helps avoid leaving it exposed to everyday dust and contact with other items in a bag. This cap is best suited to a lens whose size is marked 72mm. If your lenses have different sizes, use the marking on the lens or its existing cap to choose the matching diameter rather than assuming one cap will fit them all.
Specialist Note
With the Nikon LC-72 in place, the lens front is covered as soon as you pause shooting; it’s a small step that makes packing up feel more settled. The 72mm size is the detail to pay attention to: match it to a lens marked 72mm, and you’ll have the right size for that lens. Nikon LC-72 is the model name to look for if you’re replacing this particular cap. I’d keep it on while the camera is in a bag or resting between photographs, and take it off when you’re ready to shoot. It’s a simple cover, so its job is protection while the lens is idle, not protection during use.
