PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 - Gold Mist - 67mm - McKinnon Series
PolarPro Chroma VND/PL 2-5 - Gold Mist - 67mm - McKinnon Series | Shape light with a warm, softened look
This filter brings variable neutral-density control, polarization and a Gold Mist look together in one 67mm filter. It’s for photographers and filmmakers who want to manage exposure while adding a warmer, softened character to the image, rather than using a plain variable ND filter alone. Its 2–5-stop range lets you reduce incoming light within those limits, while the polarizing function can help manage reflections and the Gold Mist treatment gives the image a distinct aesthetic. That combination is especially appealing for daylight video, reflective scenes and portraits where you want a gentler rendering. The creative look is part of the point, so it won’t suit every scene: if you need a neutral result, the Gold Mist character may not be what you want. Choose it for work where exposure control and that particular look belong together.
Specialist Note
67mm is the filter-thread size, so it’s the detail to match to the lens you plan to use; it doesn’t describe the camera mount. For daylight video, I’d use the 2–5-stop range to keep exposure in check while choosing the motion rendering you want, starting near 2 stops and increasing the reduction as needed. The PL element also makes this an interesting option for water or glass, where managing reflections can help the subject read more clearly. Gold Mist adds a deliberate warm, softened character, which I’d lean into for portraits or atmospheric footage rather than neutral product work. One limit to keep in mind: five stops is the top of its stated range.
