Radius RAD Low Profile 3-PIN XLR Cable (275m)
Radius RAD Low Profile 3-PIN XLR Cable (275m) | Run microphone audio over a long distance
Its stated 275m length sets this Radius RAD cable apart: it’s made for microphone setups where the connection needs to reach well beyond a nearby stand or desk. The low-profile design is another defining detail, for customers who want that style of cable in their setup. With a 3-pin XLR format, it suits audio arrangements built around matching XLR connections, including a microphone routed to recording or mixing equipment. The length makes it particularly relevant to fixed installations, larger rooms and venues where equipment positions are spread out. It’s less about a short patch between neighbouring devices and more about planning a long cable route from the outset. If that’s the job you have in mind, this is a specific, straightforward option to consider.
Planning a long XLR run
At this length, it’s worth mapping the route before you lay the cable: decide where the microphone will sit, where the connected audio equipment will be, and how the cable will travel between them. A planned path makes it easier to keep the run orderly and avoid leaving unnecessary cable across walkways. The low-profile designation may also suit setups where a visually restrained cable run is part of the plan.
Specialist Note
The Radius RAD Low Profile 3-PIN XLR Cable is best suited to carrying a microphone connection over a very long route. I’d consider it for a fixed room setup or a venue where the microphone position needs to be well away from the mixing position; plan the route between those points before laying the cable. Its 275m length gives you room to make that reach, while the 3-pin XLR format means it belongs in a setup using matching XLR connections. The low-profile design is a useful detail when you want the run to stay visually restrained. It’s a specialist length, so it makes most sense when you genuinely need a long route.
