Ricoh Theta Stand TD-2
Ricoh Theta Stand TD-2 | Adjustable height for steady 360° framing
At a night-sky viewpoint or on an open landscape, a steady camera position gives you time to compose carefully and make long exposures. The Ricoh Theta Stand TD-2 is an aluminium tripod with an adjustable height of 46 to 150 cm, made for Ricoh Theta 360-degree cameras. Its three legs and adjustable leg opening provide a stable base, while the height range lets you choose a lower viewpoint or raise the camera above ground level. It’s a useful support for landscape and astro photography, night scenes and steady video, where keeping the camera still matters. The TD-2 fits the Ricoh Theta 360, SC2, V and Z1, so it’s a focused option for owners of those cameras rather than a general-purpose camera stand. The adjustable legs also give you room to adapt the setup to the spot you’re working in. A carrying bag is included for transport and storage.
Stability and setup
- Adjustable height: Set the stand anywhere from 46 to 150 cm. That range gives you a choice of framing height for a low landscape composition or a raised 360-degree viewpoint.
- Adjustable leg opening: The legs open from 7 to 60 cm. You can select a narrower or wider stance to suit the space available around your setup.
- Three-legged support: The tripod layout gives the Theta camera a stable base for still scenes and steady video. That support is especially relevant for night and astro work, where camera movement can spoil a long exposure.
- Aluminium construction: The TD-2 uses aluminium and is described as lightweight. It’s easier to carry as a dedicated support for your Theta kit than a heavier stand would be.
- Made for Ricoh Theta: Compatibility covers the Ricoh Theta 360, SC2, V and Z1. The fit is specific to these Theta cameras, keeping the stand’s purpose clear.
Specialist Note
The aluminium construction keeps the TD-2 light to carry, which is welcome when your 360 camera is part of a compact kit. I’d use it for a night landscape or an astro scene: set the camera at a considered height, open the three legs for a stable stance, then keep the framing fixed for the exposure. Its adjustable leg opening is useful when you need to adapt the footprint to the spot, rather than place the feet at one fixed angle. It’s a dedicated match for the Theta 360, SC2, V and Z1, not an all-purpose tripod for other camera systems. The included bag makes it easier to keep the stand together between outings.
