Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 62
Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 62 | Control reflections and enrich skies
Reflections on glass or water can obscure the detail you wanted to photograph, while a bright sky may look flat beside the landscape. The Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 62 is a circular polarizing filter that lets you reduce those reflections and adjust the look of a blue sky. Rotate the filter while viewing your scene to vary the effect; it depends on the light and your angle, so a small adjustment can make a visible difference. It’s particularly useful for landscape, travel and outdoor photography, or when you’re shooting through a window and want less glare. The filter is marked 62, a size to match against the filter thread on your lens. A polarizer won’t remove every reflection, and its effect is strongest at certain angles to the light. It gives you direct control over those conditions rather than asking you to fix the look later.
Specialist Note
A polarizer takes away some light, so I wouldn’t leave it on for every photograph; it earns its place when reflections or a washed-out sky are getting in the way. For a landscape, turn the filter as you watch the sky and stop when the blue looks natural; the effect is strongest with the sun roughly to your side. The 62 size is your practical matching point: look for a 62 mm filter thread on the lens. Its black colour keeps the finish understated, though that’s a cosmetic detail, not an optical advantage. If you often photograph through glass or beside water, this is a focused tool for those moments.
