Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 95
Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 95 | Control reflections and glare
Without a polarizing filter, glare from water, glass and other reflective surfaces can obscure detail in a scene. The Rodenstock HR Digital Circ Pol 95 is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over those reflections, and over the appearance of skies in bright conditions. Rotate the filter while looking through the camera to adjust its effect; the result changes with the light and your shooting angle. It’s especially useful for landscapes, water scenes and shooting through windows, where reflected light can compete with the subject. The 95 mm size suits lenses that take a 95 mm filter, so it’s important to match the filter size to your lens. Its black colour gives it a discreet appearance on the front of the lens. This is a focused tool for managing light, rather than a general-purpose protective filter.
Specialist Note
At a lake edge in strong daylight, I’d reach for the 95 mm when reflections are hiding the detail beneath the water. Rotate the filter as you watch the scene through the camera; that lets you judge the effect instead of guessing. The circular polarizer designation matters in practice: you can adjust how much reflected light is reduced, which is handy for water, glass or a bright sky. I’d recommend it to landscape photographers and anyone who often shoots through windows. One honest point: the effect depends on your position relative to the light, and a polarizer reduces the light reaching the camera, so it’s not the filter I’d leave on for every situation.
