Rodenstock HR Digital UV 39
Rodenstock HR Digital UV 39 | A UV filter in a compact size
Rodenstock HR Digital UV 39 is a UV filter for photographers looking for a compact filter size. It’s suited to anyone whose lens takes a 39 mm filter and who wants a UV filter as part of their kit. The name tells you its purpose; this is a specific filter type, rather than a general-purpose effect filter. That makes it a straightforward option when you need a UV filter for a lens with the matching size. It’s best for shoppers who already know they need this filter type and size, and want to choose a Rodenstock model. The supplier lists its colour as black, so it has a simple, dark finish. There’s no need to make a filter choice more complicated than it is: match the size your lens requires, then choose the filter type that suits your intended use. This model keeps that decision focused on UV filtration.
Choosing the right size
Filter size matters when you’re selecting a filter for a lens. The 39 in this product’s name identifies the size to look for when matching it to your lens. If your lens calls for a different size, this isn’t the one to select. That’s the key practical point before adding it to your kit; the UV designation tells you the filter type, while the number identifies the size.
Specialist Note
Photographers working with compact lenses that take a 39 mm filter are the people I’d point towards this Rodenstock. Match that 39 mm size to the lens before choosing it; that’s the simple way to avoid ordering the wrong filter. For outdoor scenes, fit it to the lens when you want a UV filter in place, and keep the lens’s required size as your guide. The black colour gives it a restrained appearance alongside your lens, rather than drawing attention to the filter itself. It’s a focused purchase: choose it for the UV type and matching size, not as a substitute for a filter with a different purpose.
