Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 40.5mm
Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 40.5mm | A 40.5mm filter for UV filtering
When you’re choosing a filter for a lens, getting the diameter right is the first practical step. The Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 40.5mm is a UV filter in a 40.5mm size, for a lens with a matching filter thread. Its purpose is specific: filtering ultraviolet light. That makes it relevant when UV filtering, rather than a colour effect or another kind of light control, is what you want from a filter. It suits photographers who know they need a UV filter and have a lens that takes this size. Fit it when that’s the effect you’re after; the product name doesn’t give a reason to choose it for a different filter purpose. It’s a straightforward option with a clear job, provided the size and filter type match what you need.
Specialist Note
The 40.5mm ring is the detail I’d settle first: this filter belongs on a lens with a matching 40.5mm filter thread, not simply any lens you own. The UV designation matters just as much; this is the filter to choose when filtering ultraviolet light is your specific aim. For an outdoor landscape, fit it before framing so it’s in place for the scene. I’d recommend it to someone who has confirmed both the size and the filter type they need. That clear purpose is useful, though this isn’t the one to choose if you’re after a different filter effect.
