Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 62mm
Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 62mm | A straightforward UV filter for digital photography
The defining choice is the 62mm filter diameter: it gives this UV filter a specific size for lenses that take a filter of the same diameter. The Rodenstock UV Digital Pro is made to filter ultraviolet light, which makes it a simple option for photographers who want a UV filter in their kit without adding complicated controls or settings. It suits digital photographers who prefer to decide for themselves when to use a filter, rather than leave one on the lens by default. Its clearest purpose is UV filtering; it isn’t a polariser or a neutral density filter, so don’t expect it to control reflections or reduce exposure. If you’re choosing one for a particular lens, the useful starting point is the filter diameter required by that lens.
For outdoor photography, you can fit it when you want UV filtering in place while composing and shooting as usual. The filter doesn’t call for a change to your camera settings, and it won’t replace choices such as exposure or focus. That makes its role easy to understand: it’s a specific optical filter, not a way to alter the look of a scene in several different ways.
Specialist Note
On a bright morning by the coast, this is the sort of filter I’d consider when you want UV filtering on a lens without changing how you shoot. Its 62mm diameter is the practical detail to match to the lens; the right fit means you can leave your framing and camera controls alone. As a UV filter, it’s suited to outdoor subjects such as shorelines or distant landscapes, where you want that particular filtering in use while you work. I’d keep expectations measured: it isn’t a polariser, so it won’t remove glare from water. If you need that effect, this isn’t the filter for it.
