Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 72mm
Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 72mm | UV filtering for a matching lens
Rodenstock UV Digital Pro 72mm is a UV filter sized at 72mm, for photographers whose lens takes a filter of that size. Its purpose is to filter ultraviolet light, making it a straightforward option to consider for outdoor photography in daylight, from open landscapes to street scenes. The name identifies it as part of Rodenstock’s Digital Pro range, but the details available here don’t support claims about its materials or any additional optical treatment. The key practical point is fit: the filter size needs to match the thread on your lens. If it does, you can choose this model specifically for UV filtering without guessing at a size. It’s a focused accessory rather than a broad creative effect, so it suits photographers who know they want a UV filter and have a lens that accepts a 72mm one.
Choosing the right size
Filter sizes are tied to the lens, not to a particular camera body. Look for the filter-thread size on your lens and match it to 72mm before buying. For a daylight landscape or an outdoor architectural scene, fit the filter to the lens before you begin shooting; that keeps the choice simple when you’re setting up in changing light. The UV designation tells you the filter’s intended role, rather than promising a particular look or creative effect.
Specialist Note
Morning light is coming across the rooftops, and this is the sort of setting where a UV filter has a clear, specific job. The “UV” in the name tells you what it’s intended to filter; I’d consider it for daylight landscapes or outdoor city photography when that’s the filter type you want. The 72mm size is the detail to get right: match it to the filter thread on your lens, then fit it before you head out. It’s a focused purchase, not a universal fit, so it won’t suit a lens with a different thread size. If your lens is 72mm, the sizing is refreshingly clear.
