Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 12
Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 12 | A clearly named kit for stereo MS recording
Choosing an accessory for a specific stereo microphone setup can be frustrating when product names don’t make the intended format clear. The Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 12 identifies stereo MS use right in its name, giving sound recordists a more specific starting point than a general microphone-accessory label. It suits people planning a Mid-Side recording arrangement, including location sound and interviews where a stereo image is part of the recording plan. The key is to match the accessory choice to an MS setup, rather than assume that any stereo configuration is the same. Keep the full “Kit 12” designation with the product name when you discuss or identify this model. It’s a focused option by name, not a general-purpose audio package. The product title alone doesn’t establish which microphones it fits, so don’t rely on the name as a compatibility guide.
Specialist Note
Is the Rycote Stereo Cyclone MS Kit 12 intended for Mid-Side stereo work? That’s what its name points to. “Stereo” matters if your recording plan calls for a stereo image, while “MS” identifies the Mid-Side approach; I’d make sure those match the format you intend to record before choosing this kit. It’s a relevant option for a sound recordist planning an MS interview or location recording, rather than someone simply looking for an unspecified microphone accessory. Keep the number 12 attached to the name when you’re identifying this exact kit. I wouldn’t infer microphone fit from the title alone, so treat compatibility as a separate question.
