Sachtler SAC-7067 Dolly DV 100
Sachtler SAC-7067 Dolly DV 100 | For smooth camera moves in video
Give a video scene a smooth moving camera view instead of keeping the frame fixed. The Sachtler SAC-7067 Dolly DV 100 is a camera crane and dolly, intended for smooth camera moves in video productions. It suits filmmakers and production teams who want camera movement to play a deliberate part in a shot, whether that means revealing a subject or following action through a scene. The value here is its clear purpose: helping create moving images, rather than serving simply as a stationary support. Think about the move before filming: where the camera should begin, what it needs to show as it travels, and where the shot should finish. That planning helps the movement support the scene rather than distract from it. For productions where a controlled moving view matters, this is the kind of specialist equipment to consider.
Planning a moving shot
A dolly move works best when it has a visual reason. For a reveal, begin with the subject partly out of view and plan the movement to bring it into the frame. To follow action, decide what should remain visible as the camera moves. Those choices give the move a clear start and finish, and help it feel like part of the scene rather than movement for its own sake.
Specialist Note
The SAC-7067 is made for smooth moving shots, rather than asking a handheld camera move to do that job. As a camera dolly, it gives a video production a dedicated way to build camera movement into the scene; the crane/dolly designation also makes it a piece of movement equipment, not just a fixed camera support. I’d consider it for a reveal shot or to follow action, planning the start and finish of the move before filming so the camera’s travel has a purpose. It suits video makers who need movement to shape the picture. If your shot stays in one position, this isn’t the equipment you need.
