Samyang Lens Hood For 85mm f/1.4 & T1.5
Samyang Lens Hood For 85mm f/1.4 & T1.5 | Helps shade your lens from stray light
Samyang Lens Hood For 85mm f/1.4 & T1.5 is a black lens hood for lenses bearing those 85mm and aperture markings. It’s made for photographers and video makers using the named Samyang lens, and gives you a straightforward way to shade the front of the lens when light comes in from the side. That can help reduce flare and keep contrast from washing out in challenging light. It’s especially relevant for portrait work, where an 85mm lens is often used to frame a subject closely, and for video setups using the T1.5-marked lens. A hood is a simple accessory, but it’s useful when you want to manage stray light without changing your framing or exposure settings. This is a focused purchase for the specified lens, rather than a general-purpose hood; its value is in matching the lens named in the product title.
Specialist Note
With the hood in place, you can concentrate on the frame instead of keeping a hand ready to shield the lens from light arriving at an angle. I’d consider it for portraits with the 85mm f/1.4 lens: that wide aperture gives you room to work with a softly separated subject, while the hood can help control flare from a bright source just outside the frame. For a video setup using the T1.5-marked lens, it serves the same practical purpose during a shot. It’s a simple accessory, and it won’t prevent flare when a light source shines straight into the lens, but it’s a sensible match for the lenses named here.
