Schneider CF Diopter Full +2 138mm Drop
Schneider CF Diopter Full +2 138mm Drop | Bring close-up detail into focus
A +2 diopter in a 138mm drop format, this Schneider filter is made for close-up work rather than changing the look of light. It adds close-focusing power to a lens, helping you bring small details nearer in the frame. That makes it relevant to photographers and filmmakers who want to frame product details, textures or small subjects more tightly without relying on a dedicated macro lens. The “Full” designation is part of the product name; the key working detail is the +2 diopter. It changes the lens’s focusing range, so you’ll need to work within the closer range it creates rather than expect ordinary distant focusing. The 138mm drop format also makes this a specific fit for rigs set up for that filter format. If close detail is the goal, it’s a straightforward optical tool with a clear purpose.
Specialist Note
+2 means this diopter brings your lens’s close-focus range forward, which is handy when a small subject still feels too small in the frame. I’d consider it for tabletop product details or a close view of a flower’s texture: compose around the nearer focusing range and adjust your camera position until the detail comes into focus. The other practical number is 138mm. This is a drop-format filter, so it suits a setup built to accept that size, not a small screw-in filter arrangement. It’s a focused solution for close work; it won’t give you the same flexibility as a general-purpose filter.
