Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue 4mm 4x5.65
Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue 4mm 4x5.65 | Add blue streaks to bright lights
Bright point lights become blue horizontal streaks, adding a deliberate cinematic accent to a frame. The Schneider-Kreuznach MPTV True-Streak Blue is a color filter for filmmakers and camera crews who want that look in-camera, rather than adding it during editing. It’s particularly suited to scenes where lamps, signs or other small bright sources are part of the composition: the streak turns those highlights into a visible graphic element. You can use that effect to give a night scene more visual direction, or to make a bright practical light feel like part of the design. The result depends on having bright sources in the shot, so it’s a considered creative tool rather than an everyday filter. If you want a distinct blue light streak and can build it into your lighting or framing, this filter offers a direct way to do so.
Specialist Note
4mm is the streak-width designation, giving you a defined line rather than an open-ended effect to judge by eye. I’d use it with a bright point source kept in frame: a sign or a practical lamp can become a strong blue accent, while careful framing helps keep that line intentional. The 4x5.65 format makes this a filter for a setup built around that size, so it’s worth thinking about your filter workflow before planning a shot around it. One honest caveat: blue streaks can pull attention quickly, so a scene with lots of bright sources may feel busy. It suits crews who want that look to be part of the image from the start.
