Shimoda Trolley DV Roller (520-113)
Shimoda Trolley DV Roller (520-113) | A hard case for more protected transport
Loose or soft-sided luggage can leave camera gear exposed when it’s being moved or put away. The Shimoda Trolley DV Roller (520-113) is a hard case for photographers and other camera users who need a more protective option for transport and storage. Its purpose is practical: help shield your gear from knocks, dust and rain while it’s on the move or waiting between uses. That makes it worth considering for journeys where bags may be handled roughly, or for keeping equipment in a less-than-pristine storage area. It’s also a straightforward choice if you’d rather have a hard outer case than rely on a soft bag alone. Think of it as protection for the outside of your kit; you’ll still want to pack the equipment inside with care.
Specialist Note
At a venue’s loading area, I’d use the Shimoda Trolley DV Roller 520-113 as the outer case for camera gear going between the vehicle and storage. Its hard-case format is the point: it gives the outside of your kit a firmer barrier against knocks than a soft bag. The stated protection from dust and rain is reassuring when equipment has to wait in a busy or damp setting, though I wouldn’t treat that as permission to leave it exposed for long periods. It suits photographers who prioritise protection during transport and storage. Pack the gear carefully inside, and this case can take care of the rougher part of the journey.
