SmallHD BLF19 Battery Eliminator
SmallHD BLF19 Battery Eliminator | Reduce battery changes in your monitor workflow
Fewer battery changes can make a monitor setup easier to manage during a video day. The SmallHD BLF19 Battery Eliminator is an accessory for a field-monitor workflow, intended to let you power a monitor without relying on a battery fitted to it. That makes it worth considering when you want to plan monitor power as part of a broader setup, rather than treating battery swaps as the default. It’s relevant to camera operators, video crews and anyone building a monitor station, especially where the screen stays in use for extended periods. The product name tells us its role, but not the power source or connection details, so those need to suit your particular setup. Think of the BLF19 as a power-planning option for the monitor side of your work, not as a monitor or a general-purpose power solution.
Planning a monitor setup
For a fixed video or viewing station, an eliminator can be part of a plan to keep the monitor supplied with power without routine battery replacement. In a rig-based workflow, it gives you another approach to consider for the monitor’s power arrangement. The practical point is to plan the monitor and its power together: the product’s name identifies its purpose, while the rest of your setup determines whether that approach suits your needs. It won’t replace the monitor itself, and it doesn’t tell you which other equipment to use.
Specialist Note
19 is the number in BLF19’s model name; the useful point is that this is a battery eliminator for a field-monitor workflow, not another screen. I’d consider it if you’re organising a monitor station and want to build the monitor’s power arrangement around an eliminator instead of routine battery changes. It also makes sense to consider when planning a rig-based setup where the monitor’s power needs to be part of the overall build. Keep your expectations specific: the title establishes the product’s role, but doesn’t make it a general power accessory for every item on a rig. I’d treat it as a focused option for monitor power planning.
