SmallHD ENEL14 Battery Eliminator
SmallHD ENEL14 Battery Eliminator | Reduce reliance on monitor batteries
Its defining choice is the ENEL14 battery-eliminator format: it’s intended to let a field-monitor setup run without relying on an ENEL14 battery. That makes it relevant when you want to plan monitor power separately from the batteries you carry for other gear. It’s a focused accessory, not another screen or a general-purpose battery; its job is tied to the ENEL14 designation in its name. For a monitor operator managing a setup that stays in place, avoiding a battery change can make power planning simpler. The useful question is whether this battery format belongs in your intended monitor setup. The product name doesn’t identify a specific monitor model or tell you what external supply to use, so treat it as a dedicated ENEL14 solution rather than a universal power adapter. If that’s the format you need, this SmallHD accessory has a clear role.
Where it fits in a setup
Think of this as a way to change how a monitor receives power, not as a power source in itself. It may suit a monitor that stays put during a long interview or a locked-off shot, where pausing to change a battery is inconvenient. Plan the rest of the power arrangement around the eliminator; its name alone doesn’t specify the supply or connection details.
Specialist Note
For people framing interviews, product demonstrations or other shots where the field monitor stays in position, this accessory is about avoiding a monitor battery change mid-session. The ENEL14 designation is the key detail: it points to a specific battery format, so I’d choose it only when that’s the format your setup calls for, not as a catch-all monitor adapter. SmallHD is the name on the product, and the category is field monitors; that keeps its purpose clear, but doesn’t identify a particular monitor model. I’d plan your external power arrangement before building it into a rig, since the eliminator itself isn’t a power source.
