Sony Lens Hood For SEL24105 G
Sony Lens Hood For SEL24105 G | Helps block stray light
This Sony lens hood is made for the SEL24105 G, giving that lens a dedicated way to shade its front element from light arriving at an angle. It’s most useful when you’re working outdoors or near a bright window: with the light source just outside your frame, the hood can help reduce flare and preserve contrast. It also adds a little protection around the front of the lens when you’re carrying or using it. For photographers who use the SEL24105 G in changing light, that practical combination is the point: less unwanted light reaching the lens, without adding another filter or changing how you compose. A hood can’t prevent flare when a bright source shines straight into the lens, but it’s a simple aid for common side-light situations. Choose this model when you want a Sony hood identified for the SEL24105 G rather than a general accessory.
Specialist Note
The Sony Lens Hood For SEL24105 G does its best work shading the lens from stray side light. Since it’s identified specifically for the SEL24105 G, it’s the model to consider when that’s the lens you use; I wouldn’t treat it as a universal hood. I’d fit it for outdoor portraits or a walk with the sun just outside the frame, where blocking light from the side can help keep contrast steadier. Its black colour keeps the accessory visually discreet on the lens. One limitation is worth keeping in mind: if the sun is actually in your composition, a hood can’t block that direct light. For ordinary side lighting, though, it’s a straightforward, lens-specific accessory.
