Tilta DB-SYFZ-Usbc Sony NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery To USB-C PD Power Cable | Power for handheld video setups

During a long handheld video session, stopping to manage the camera’s battery can interrupt the work. The Tilta DB-SYFZ-Usbc is a power cable with a Sony NP-FZ100 dummy battery at one end and a USB-C PD connection at the other. It’s intended for setups that use an NP-FZ100 battery type and a USB-C PD power source, making it relevant to camera operators who want to build external power into their setup. Its place in the shoulder-rig category reflects its use in handheld video work, where extra camera support can matter during extended recording. This cable is best suited to a rig-based workflow where power is part of the setup; it isn’t a shoulder support on its own. For interviews or other longer handheld recordings, it offers a way to connect the camera’s battery slot to USB-C PD power rather than relying on a standard battery alone.

Specialist Note

Having to pause a handheld recording to deal with the camera’s battery is the interruption this cable is meant to help avoid. The NP-FZ100 dummy battery end is the key detail: it takes the place of that battery in the camera, so you can build power into your setup around the camera’s battery slot. The USB-C PD connection gives you the corresponding power link at the other end. I’d consider it for a seated interview or a longer handheld video session, paired with a USB-C PD power source. One practical point: this is a power cable, not the shoulder support itself, so you’ll still need a rig if you want that extra physical support.
