Tilta Ta-T40-MBP-TG Magnetic 1/4-20 Mt.ing Baseplate For DJI Osmo Action Series
Tilta Ta-T40-MBP-TG Magnetic 1/4-20 Mounting Baseplate for DJI Osmo Action Series | More support for handheld video
More support for handheld video can make it easier to keep your framing under control while you work. The Tilta Ta-T40-MBP-TG is a magnetic 1/4-20 mounting baseplate for the DJI Osmo Action Series, intended as part of a shoulder rig. It suits Osmo Action users who want a more supported setup for filming by hand, rather than simply holding the camera on its own. The magnetic attachment and 1/4-20 mounting point give you two practical details to consider when planning how it fits into your rig: the magnetic connection is part of how the baseplate attaches, while the threaded point is for a compatible 1/4-20 connection. Its grey finish keeps the look understated alongside your camera setup. This is a focused rig component, not a camera or a standalone stabiliser, so its value is in supporting a handheld video arrangement built around the camera system it’s made for.
Specialist Note
The Tilta Ta-T40-MBP-TG is a considered baseplate for adding support to handheld DJI Osmo Action filming. I’d look at the magnetic attachment first when deciding how it fits into your setup: it’s the defining connection detail, so plan your rig around that rather than treating this as a universal plate. The 1/4-20 point gives you a familiar threaded connection for compatible rig components, which can help when building a more supported arrangement for interviews or short walk-and-talk clips. It’s aimed at people who want a shoulder-rig approach to handheld video. One practical limit: a baseplate alone won’t stabilise footage; it’s a component of a larger setup, and the rest of that setup matters.
