TTArtisan APS-C AF23mm f/1.8 Nikon Z-Mount
TTArtisan APS-C AF23mm f/1.8 Nikon Z-Mount | A bright prime for wide scenes
At dusk, or beneath a clear night sky, a wide view is often more useful than reach. The TTArtisan APS-C AF23mm f/1.8 Nikon Z-Mount is an autofocus wide-angle prime for Nikon Z APS-C cameras, suited to photographers who want a fixed view for landscapes, architecture and astrophotography. Its estimated 63° angle of view gives room for broad scenes without making it an ultra-wide specialist. Autofocus makes everyday framing straightforward, while the fixed focal length invites a deliberate approach: choose a viewpoint and compose within it rather than zooming. It also makes sense for architecture when you can step back enough to include a façade, or for night-sky compositions where the surrounding scene matters as much as the stars. This is a focused option for Nikon Z APS-C owners who want a bright prime for those subjects, rather than one lens for every situation.
Specialist Note
The 23mm focal length gives this prime a moderately wide view; on a Nikon Z DX body, it frames roughly like a 35mm lens on full frame. That gives you room to include a building or foreground without making the scene feel extremely wide. At f/1.8, you have a wide maximum aperture to work with after sunset. For a star-field, I’d open it fully and include a foreground shape for scale. I’d point it toward architecture and landscape photographers who enjoy choosing their position and framing carefully. The trade-off is fixed framing: you’ll move yourself, not zoom the lens.
