Ulanzi LC-D65 Lantern Softbox 65cm
Ulanzi LC-D65 Lantern Softbox 65cm | Soft light across a wider area
A room scene can be difficult to light evenly with a small, direct source; the Ulanzi LC-D65 Lantern Softbox gives you a way to spread and soften the light instead. It’s a 65cm lantern softbox, suited to video makers, portrait photographers and anyone lighting a person or a small area indoors. The lantern format is useful when you want light to reach around the subject rather than form a tight pool, while the softbox helps make the result gentler than direct light. Try it for a seated interview, or to lift the light around a tabletop setup: place it near the subject and adjust its position until the light feels balanced with the room. It’s a simple, focused tool for shaping a scene, rather than a light source in itself. If your setup calls for a tightly controlled beam, this broad-light approach may not be the one you want.
Specialist Note
The 65cm span is the detail to keep in mind: it gives the lantern presence in a room, so allow space to position it around your subject. The lantern shape is useful when you want a more enveloping spread than a small, direct source gives. For a seated interview, place it beside or just in front of the person and move it until the face is lit evenly; for a tabletop scene, raise it to soften the light across the setup. I’d suggest it to someone who wants room-filling, gentle light without turning the job into a complicated lighting plan. Its broad spread is also a limitation if you need a narrow, sharply controlled beam.
