Ulanzi MT66 Clipmate Mini Tripod For DJI Osmo Action & 360 | Support when space is tight

Unlike a full tripod, the Ulanzi MT66 Clipmate is a monopod: it gives you a support point without taking up as much room. It’s suited to photographers who need to keep a long-lens setup supported for sports or wildlife, and to anyone working at an event where there isn’t space to spread out tripod legs. The name also identifies it for DJI Osmo Action and 360 cameras, so it may suit a compact action-camera setup too. Think of it as a way to make a constrained shooting position more manageable, rather than a stand that takes care of everything on its own. For long-lens work, its strongest use is helping you support your shooting position while keeping the footprint small. At crowded events, that smaller footprint can make it easier to work without claiming the space a tripod needs.

Specialist Note

First-time monopod owners sometimes expect a support to stand in place like a tripod; the MT66 is better understood as a way to support your setup while you remain involved. I’d consider it for sports or wildlife with a long lens, where having a support point can make a sustained shooting position more manageable. It also makes sense at a busy event when tripod legs would take more room than you can spare. The useful distinction is that it’s a monopod, not a substitute for a tripod that stands independently. If you need that hands-free setup, this isn’t the tool I’d choose; if space is the constraint, its purpose is clear.
