Urth 39mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus
Urth 39mm Magnetic Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus | A gentle, hazy look for bright highlights
Without a mist filter, bright highlights can look crisp and separate from the rest of a scene. The Urth Ethereal White Mist Filter Plus is made to soften that contrast, giving bright areas a gentle glow while retaining the shape of the subject. It suits photographers and filmmakers who want that softer, atmospheric look as they capture an image, rather than adding the effect afterwards. Try it with portrait lighting for a less sharply defined highlight, or include bright lights in a night scene to give them a diffused appearance. The effect is a creative choice, not a general-purpose correction: if you want every highlight to stay clean and sharply rendered, a mist filter may not be the look you want. This version is magnetic and sized at 39mm.
Specialist Note
This filter isn’t for keeping bright details crisp; its appeal is the gentler, misted rendering. I’d suggest it if you want portraits with a softer feel, or night scenes where you’d like lights to bloom a little: frame the bright source in the scene and let the filter shape its appearance in-camera. The 39mm size matters when matching it to your lens setup, so check that the filter size you need is 39mm. Its magnetic format is handy if you want to change filters during a shoot, provided your setup supports this magnetic system. It’s a creative look, so I’d use it when that softness is part of the picture you have in mind.
