Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Plus+
Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Plus+ | A softer, atmospheric look
Highlights take on a gentler, more atmospheric character with the Urth 82mm Magnetic Ethereal Black Mist Plus+. It’s a color filter for photographers who want to bring an Ethereal Black Mist look into their pictures, rather than building the whole mood later in editing. The style is especially suited to portraits, backlit subjects and night scenes with bright points of light, where a softer rendering can support the mood. Its magnetic format is the defining practical detail: this is a filter for photographers who want a magnetic option in their setup. The 82mm designation helps you identify the filter size you need. If you already use an 82mm filter setup, this gives you a way to explore a different visual character without changing cameras or lenses. The effect is a creative one, so it won’t suit every frame; reach for it when a softer atmosphere is part of your intent.
Specialist Note
82mm is the size to match in your filter setup, so think about the lens you plan to use before choosing this one. The magnetic format is the other detail that shapes how it fits into a kit; I’d consider it if you prefer a magnetic filter workflow and want this Ethereal Black Mist look ready for portraits or evening street scenes. For a portrait, use it when you want a softer, more atmospheric feel. For a night scene, compose with visible lights so that look has a place in the image. It’s a creative effect, not a neutral everyday filter, so I’d save it for frames that benefit from that mood.
