Vanguard QS-60
Vanguard QS-60: attach your camera to a compatible tripod head
The Vanguard QS-60 is a compact quick-release plate measuring 6 × 4.6 cm, made for Vanguard Alta 2/2+ tripods and Arca-compatible heads. It's a useful spare or replacement for photographers who move a camera between compatible tripod setups and want the plate to stay attached to the camera. Its anti-slip surface and standard 1/4-inch screw keep the design simple and focused on mounting. Use it for a landscape setup that needs a steady tripod position, or keep a second camera ready for a portrait session so you can switch setups without changing the plate on the camera. At 52 g, it adds little weight to a camera bag, and its small footprint takes up little space when packed. The key point is compatibility: this plate is intended for the Vanguard Alta 2/2+ and Arca-compatible heads, rather than being a universal fit for every tripod head.
Plate details
- 1/4-inch screw: The standard tripod screw attaches the plate to a camera. Once fitted, the plate can remain on the camera between sessions.
- 6 × 4.6 cm footprint: Its compact dimensions keep the plate from taking up much space in a kit. The size also gives the camera a defined contact area on the head.
- 52 g weight: This is a light accessory to carry as a spare, or leave fitted to a camera that’s often mounted on a tripod.
- Anti-slip surface: The plate’s non-slip material adds grip at the camera-to-plate contact point, helping prevent the camera from shifting against the plate.
- Arca-type compatibility: It fits Arca-compatible tripod heads, as well as Vanguard Alta 2/2+ tripods. Match the plate to one of these specified systems.
Specialist Note
The Vanguard QS-60 is a no-fuss plate for keeping a camera ready to mount on a compatible head. I like that the 1/4-inch screw uses a familiar fitting, so you can attach the plate and leave it on the camera between tripod sessions. Its 52 g weight is modest, which makes carrying a spare reasonable if you work with more than one camera setup. For a landscape composition, fit the plate before setting the camera on an Alta 2/2+ or Arca-compatible head; for a static portrait, it keeps the camera mounting point ready while you adjust your framing. Just keep its compatibility in mind: it’s for the listed systems, not every head.
