Western Digital My Book 22TB USB3.2 HDD

Western Digital My Book 22TB USB3.2 HDD | A large-capacity home for your files

What sets the Western Digital My Book apart is its 22TB capacity: there’s room to bring a substantial collection of files together on one external hard drive. It suits photographers, studios and other users whose image libraries have grown beyond the space they want to keep on a computer. The USB 3.2 connection is part of the product’s name; the other clear point is its role as an external HDD, rather than a memory card or a small portable drive. For a large archive that you want to keep in one place, that combination is the reason to consider it. I’d look at it as a storage destination for files you need to retain, not as a substitute for a second copy of anything important.

A bit of planning makes a large drive easier to live with. You might organise folders by year, client or project, then keep your own naming system consistent so that older work is easier to find. Think, too, about which files belong on the drive and which need to stay readily available elsewhere in your workflow. An external HDD can form part of an archive, but having files in one place alone doesn’t give you a separate backup. If the contents matter, keep another copy on a different storage device or location. That’s practical advice for any archive, and especially useful when a drive is intended to gather a lot of work in one place.
