Wooden Camera A00487 Arca Base Plate Red Komodo-X¢
Wooden Camera A00487 Arca Base Plate Red Komodo-X | A dedicated Arca-format tripod base
Without a dedicated base plate, moving a camera rig onto tripod support can mean sorting out the camera-to-support connection as a separate job. The Wooden Camera A00487 Arca Base Plate Red Komodo-X is a tripod accessory for a RED KOMODO-X setup, with an Arca-format base as its defining feature. It suits owners building a tripod workflow around that camera and an Arca-style receiving point. The practical benefit is a clearly specified interface: you can plan the support side of your setup around the Arca format rather than treating the plate as a generic camera part. That makes it most relevant when your tripod arrangement already uses that format. It’s a focused accessory, not a complete support system, so its value depends on how your camera and tripod setup are configured.
Where it fits in your setup
Think of the A00487 as one part of the connection between a camera build and tripod support. Its product name identifies both the Arca base format and the RED KOMODO-X it is intended for, which helps keep the choice specific when you’re planning a rig. Before building around it, make sure an Arca-format receiver is part of your tripod arrangement. The plate itself doesn’t replace the tripod or other support equipment; it has a defined role within that setup.
Specialist Note
For a Komodo-X setup that moves between a work surface and tripod support, I’d keep the A00487 assigned to the tripod side of the rig. Its Arca base gives you a specific format to match at the receiving end, so I’d plan around an Arca-style receiver rather than assuming it fits every tripod arrangement. The RED KOMODO-X naming makes its intended camera setup clear, which is useful when you’re choosing parts for a purpose-built rig. The A00487 number is also handy when you’re keeping track of parts in a kit. It’s a focused plate, so pair it with the right support hardware for your setup.
