Wooden Camera A00503 Rigging Top Plate Red Komodo-X¢
Wooden Camera A00503 Rigging Top Plate Red Komodo-X | Camera-specific rigging
Sorting out a camera rig can get frustrating when the top-plate part on your list isn’t clearly tied to the camera you’re building around. Wooden Camera’s A00503 Rigging Top Plate is identified for the RED Komodo-X, giving owners a specifically named tripod accessory to consider as part of that rigging plan. It suits operators and camera teams assembling a Komodo-X setup who need a top plate in the parts plan, rather than shoppers looking for a general tripod add-on. Its clearest use is planning a rig around the named camera and keeping the top-plate choice tied to that system. If you’re documenting a build, the A00503 designation gives you a clear reference when discussing this component with a crew or recording it in a preparation list. That makes it particularly relevant during rig planning, when choosing the right type of component matters as much as naming the camera. It’s a focused part: consider it for a Komodo-X rigging requirement, not as a tripod or a complete camera rig.
Specialist Note
On a RED Komodo-X build, I’d start the parts list with A00503, so everyone on the crew is talking about the same top-plate component. The RED Komodo-X naming matters in practice: this is the option to consider for a rig centred on that model, rather than a general-purpose plate recommendation. And “rigging top plate” tells you where it belongs in the plan—it’s a component for the camera rig, not the tripod support itself. I’d use it when a Komodo-X setup calls for a top-plate part, and keep the A00503 code in the build notes so it’s easy to identify during prep. My honest caveat is its narrow scope: it doesn’t replace decisions about the rest of the rig. If your planned camera is the RED Komodo-X, this is a straightforward component to evaluate.
