Wooden Camera UMB-1 Uni Mattebox LW 15mm Rod Clamp Only
Wooden Camera UMB-1 Uni Mattebox LW 15mm Rod Clamp Only | A dedicated clamp component for a mattebox setup
Wooden Camera UMB-1 Uni Mattebox LW 15mm Rod Clamp Only is a rod clamp component for the UMB-1 Uni Mattebox. It’s for camera operators and production teams who need this specific part for a mattebox build, rather than a complete mattebox. The title identifies it for an LW 15mm rod setup, which makes it easier to match the part to the configuration you’re working with. The word “Only” matters: this listing is for the clamp component, not a description of a full mattebox package. That clear scope suits a planned build or a project where you’re sourcing one named part at a time. Its role is specific, so it’s best for buyers who already know they need the UMB-1 clamp component; it isn’t a general-purpose tripod accessory.
Part of a focused mattebox setup
Think of this as a small, clearly defined part of a larger camera-support arrangement. Its name links it to the UMB-1 Uni Mattebox and specifies the rod-clamp format, so the useful question is whether this is the exact component your setup calls for. If you’re assembling a mattebox system, keeping the part name and rod format in view can help avoid ordering a differently specified component. There’s no reason to treat it as an all-in-one solution: its stated job is limited to the clamp. That makes it a straightforward option for a targeted parts purchase, provided the UMB-1 and the stated rod format are what you need.
Specialist Note
On a prep table before a studio call, the parts for a mattebox build are being checked one by one. This is the clamp component for the UMB-1 Uni Mattebox, so I’d choose it when that’s the specific part missing from the plan, not as a substitute for the whole mattebox. The LW 15mm designation is useful when you’re matching the clamp to the rod format already specified for your setup. It suits camera teams who prefer to source a named component directly. My one practical caution: “Clamp Only” is easy to overlook, so make sure you’re shopping for the clamp itself, not a complete mattebox package.
