Yongnuo YN24EX Macro Flash For Sony
Yongnuo YN24EX Macro Flash For Sony | Add light to close-up photography
For close-up photography, the Yongnuo YN24EX Macro Flash For Sony lets you add flash to the scene when a small subject needs more light. It’s a speedlight flash made for Sony, with macro work in its name and a broader range of uses beyond close-ups. I’d consider it for photographing small subjects, indoor portraits and events, or as fill light when harsh sunlight leaves a subject looking too dark. Those are quite different situations, so its appeal is the chance to use one flash across several kinds of photography. For macro pictures, it gives you a flash option when ambient light isn’t enough; for portraits and events, it can add light indoors. In strong sun, it can serve as fill. This is a practical fit for Sony photographers who want a flash that covers close-up work as well as more familiar people and event photography.
Specialist Note
The speedlight form is the first practical detail to consider: this is a flash for adding light, rather than a macro lens or a continuous lamp. The YN24EX is specifically a macro flash, so I’d look at it if close-up subjects are part of your photography, while its use for indoor portraits, events and harsh-sun fill gives it a broader role. For a small subject, use it when the available light isn’t giving you the result you want; for an indoor portrait, it can provide flash light in place of relying on the room alone. It suits a Sony photographer with those uses in mind. One honest point: it’s a flash, so it won’t replace a lens or solve every part of a macro setup.
