Yongnuo YN622N-TX Wireless TTL Flash Trigger For Nikon | Trigger off-camera flash for portraits and product work

Its defining job is to trigger off-camera flash wirelessly for a Nikon setup, making the Yongnuo YN622N-TX a practical transmitter for photographers who want to place their light away from the camera. It suits portrait and product photographers who need more freedom in how they position flash, rather than a flash unit to mount on the camera itself. The product name identifies it as a TTL flash trigger, so TTL is part of what you’re choosing here; its core role is sending the trigger to the off-camera flash. That distinction matters: this is the link in your lighting setup, not the light source. For portraits, it can help you work with flash placed to the side of your subject; for product shots, it lets you trigger off-camera flash while arranging the light around the item. It’s a focused tool for those jobs, without claims about features we can’t verify.

Specialist Note

The Yongnuo YN622N-TX is a wireless transmitter for triggering Nikon off-camera flash, and that’s the job it’s best suited to. I’d point portrait photographers towards it when they want to move flash away from the camera and shape the light from the side; for small product work, that same freedom helps you direct light onto the item instead of relying on the camera position. Its TTL designation is useful to know when choosing a trigger for a TTL lighting setup. Just remember that the YN622N-TX triggers flash; it doesn’t produce light itself, so you’ll need off-camera flash as part of the setup. If that’s what you’re building, this is a purpose-built transmitter rather than a general accessory.
