Zhiyun Crane M2
Zhiyun Crane M2 | Smoother video while you're on the move
Where a conventional tripod keeps a camera still, the Zhiyun Crane M2 is a gimbal stabiliser made for smoother video as you move. It’s aimed at people who film while walking, vlog on the go, or want moving footage to feel steadier than a shot taken while simply carrying a camera. Its role is specific: help with moving shots, rather than act as an all-purpose support for static scenes. For a walking sequence, choose a clear, short route and keep your pace measured. For a moving vlog, plan where you’ll walk and how you’ll frame yourself before you start recording. The Crane M2 makes most sense for creators who regularly film away from a fixed position. It won’t plan a shot for you, though; framing and movement still matter. Think of it as a tool for steadier, purposeful camera movement, not a shortcut to polished footage.
Plan for movement
Decide what the camera needs to follow before you begin: a walk through a location, or a vlog segment filmed while moving. Those are the situations this gimbal is suited to. Keeping the route and framing simple gives you a clear aim for each take, and helps you judge whether a moving shot is doing what you want.
Specialist Note
People new to gimbals sometimes expect the stabiliser alone to make walking footage look polished. The Crane M2 is most useful when you plan movement as part of the shot: I’d use it for a short walking approach or a vlog segment filmed while moving, with a clear route and deliberate framing. That’s where its role as a gimbal stabiliser makes sense, rather than in a static talking-head scene. It’s a focused tool for video in motion, and it can’t make a rushed route or careless framing look intentional. If moving footage is a regular part of what you make, its purpose is refreshingly clear.
