Zhiyun Silicone Diffuser For Fiveray M40 Cinepeer CM25

Zhiyun Silicone Diffuser For Fiveray M40 Cinepeer CM25 | Diffuse light for softer-looking results

For a softer-looking light on a subject, a diffuser changes the character of the light before it reaches the scene. The Zhiyun Silicone Diffuser is an accessory for the Fiveray M40 and Cinepeer CM25, made from silicone. It suits photographers and video makers using either of those lights who want to spread the light rather than work with it directly. That can help make close-up portraits, small product shots or tabletop scenes look gentler, especially when the light is aimed at a nearby subject. The exact result depends on how you position the light and what you’re lighting; a diffuser won’t make every setup look the same. It’s a simple, focused accessory: its purpose is to diffuse light from the named Zhiyun lights. If that’s the adjustment you’re after, this is the relevant diffuser to consider.

What diffusion changes

Diffusion spreads light, which can soften the way shadows and bright areas appear on a subject. In practice, the effect also depends on the distance and angle between the light, diffuser and subject. Try shifting the light slightly and looking at the subject from the camera position; small changes in placement can alter the result. This is a practical way to shape the light for a scene, rather than a promise of one fixed look. The diffuser’s role is straightforward: it goes with the named lights to alter their light before it reaches the subject. For a scene where you want the direct character of the light, you may prefer to use the light without diffusion.
